URBACT contribution

URBACT will contribute to Chapter 5 of the MOOC "Stimulating the local and regional economy: financing and advice for investment in regions and cities", which will take place from 12 to 16 February. This chapter will present the main advisory services and financing solutions that the EU, mainly through the European Investment Bank, can offer to stimulate economic growth in cities and regions, both for public and private investment: advisory services for innovative projects connected to the urban agenda, disaster risk management and post-disaster recovery, infrastructure, SMEs and microfinance. Key information about the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) and innovative city projects connected to the Urban Agenda will also be provided.

Ahead of the course, have a look at the animation produced by the Action Planning Network RetaiLink on the evolution of retail. RetaiLink gathers ten European cities set inspire each other in order to create innovative strategies that would revitalise the retail sector in medium-sized cities.

Check out also the video Job generation for a jobless generation which is part of the URBACT Capitalisation Workstreams with the objective to present to Europe’s cities existing urban knowledge and good practices, including about jobs for young people in cities.

The URBACT content is now live on the MOOC e-learning platform!
