In the period of 1 of February 2013 – 30 of June 2013, informations were collected from the Prevent partner cities in order to elaborate a study on the issue of family and school drop out in the Roma community. The study was realised by Valya Ivanova, trainee in the city of Nantes.

The ten cities of PREVENT were asked to participate in the survey, seven of them responded.
The City of Catania in Italy and the City of The Hague in Netherlands do not have a special policy or good practices to share because there is not a Roma population in their areas. In the other cities the degree of consideration of that topic varies. If the difficulties of involving Roma parents in the prevention of the ESL of their children are often similar, the municipal policies differ in the cities also regarding the history and the background of Roma people in each place.
