The 2nd official meeting about the project ENTER.HUB with Deputy Mayor of Gdynia – Marek Stępa – took place the 15th of October in the City Hall. The members of ULSG and invited guests – directors of the key municipality units – have seen the results of “Measurement of pedestrian traffic and survey on passengers’ behavior in Gardenia Główna railway hub” elaborated by external experts from Office of Road Engineering “TRAFIK”.

The main result of the study is the large number of pedestrians in the hub – approximately 30.000/24h, with more than 11.000/24 h at the most important road-crossing. This high pedestrian traffic excludes the solution of a turbo roundabout, because it the will block all motorized traffic in the street including the large number of buses and trolleybuses going through the area. After discussions, it was decided that traditional roundabout with a shared space or channelized intersection with signals would be the best solutions.

In the second part of the meeting, the City Designer – Mr. Jacek Piątek - presented the aesthetic aspects of railway hub and Konstytucji Square. Finally participants discussed about next steps and time frames of investment in the hub area. This was the last meeting before finalizing the Local Action Plan.
