In July 2015 established Urban Mode Ltd (www.urbanmode.eu) to help local authorities work with business and community organisations to assess the urban development challenges in their cities and towns with the intent to create collaborative strategies. Having previously worked in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (one of the four Dublin local authorities) as economic development officer, gained extensive experience in local economic development and urban revitalisation. Furthermore serves as a non-executive director of the O’Cualann Co-housing Alliance in Dublin, a social enterprise working with communities to build affordable housing. Works as a lead expert to enable cities to work together on integrated urban development themes. Projects include City Centre Doctor Project (2015 to 2018) with a focus on action plans to revitalise their city centres; Vitality of Small Cities Capitalisation Project (2019 - 2021) with a focus on appropriate supports for small cities to sustain their economic vitality; and the iPlace Project (2019 - 2021) the iPlace Project where ten small cities aim to find niches for future development and to improve their local innovation ecosystems. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Ireland in 2000. Holds a MBA degree from Dublin City University together with degrees in Law and Psychology from the University of Pretoria.
