Julia Hußmann has started working as an AdHoc Expert in the beginning of 2019. She is an enthusiastic young professional full of energy and passion for what she is doing. She studied Tourism Management and Consultancy in the Netherlands and afterwards worked for 2 1/2 years as a tourism and city manager for a small German town, namely Altena, which has ongoing issues with population decrease and loss of infrastructure. With her Pop Up shop project she landed a big success in revitalizing the city center and fostering local creative entrepreneurship. In 2014 she was able to establish 14 Pop Up shops, of which 7 decided to opt for a long-term contract in the city center of Altena. Moreover, she also realized a housing project with the local construction company, where they renovated old, vacant houses and offered them to young adults interested in flat-sharing. This project was equally successful and the construction company was able to open up three flat-share houses in one street.
When leaving the city of Altena she moved to South Africa for half a year to support local projects in the disadvantaged, poor areas, the socalled Townships. She mainly worked with children from 2-18 and as a teacher for tourism management at Ikhala College teaching young adults from 16-30 years. Back from South Africa she studied Digital Entrepreneurship in Barcelona to learn more about start ups and social ventures and to figure out how to put more of her ideas into practice. She is an extraordinary driven and idealistic person and thinks in opportunities rather than limitations.
