Ileana Toscano is an urban planner with a first-hand experience in developing innovative and sustainable urban projects. In 2006, her strong interest in inclusive urban planning and her experience in this sector led Ileana to establish Kallipolis, a non-profit organisation dealing with sustainable urban development, inspired by the principles of the UN-Habitat Agenda. As Kallipolis manager she has designed and coordinated several projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, France Ecuador, Vietnam, Argentina, Albania, Lebanon, Croatia and Slovenia. She has also been engaged as a consultant in several international projects, EU funded, carried out by Municipalities, non-governmental and governmental organisations, Universities in Italy, Ecuador, Romania, Algeria, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2013 she has been working within the URBACT programme. From 2013 to 2015 as a consultant for the Municipality of Trieste for the USEAct – URBACT II project and currently as the URBACT network expert of the Playful Paradigm transfer network.
