I have studied Chemical Engineering and I hold a 5 years diploma from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2019 I obtained my PhD, in the field of urban sustainability from the same academic institution (Title: Development of a methodology for the evaluation of sustainability as a prerequisite for strategic design in urban areas). I have also 2 Master Degrees (one in Information Management from the University of Sheffield and one in Environmental Management of Infrastructure projects from the Hellenic Open University). Through my 20 years professional career I have been responsible for drafting, facilitating, leading, implementing and transferring the results of more than 40 transnational EU projects, most of them dealing with the topic of sustainable urban development. Apart from my thematic expertise gained through my participation in these projects I have also developed considerable experience in designing and delivering transnational exchange and learning activities and in designing and delivering integrated urban policies. Also, through my teaching activities at the academic level I have developed my communication skills. From a scientific point of view and I have published and announced several results of my research related to the characterization of urban sustainability using a novel system of indicators and the transformation of results into policies. Currently, I am involved in European projects related to circular economy, SDGs, bio-waste and urban health and well-being.
