Burcu Ozupak Gulec is a consultant and co-founder of Ikiiki Design & Consultancy, a consultancy firm located in Istanbul and Delaware. She has experience in policy, strategy and program development, strategic decision making, public impact and public participation, moderation and process planning, government relations, stakeholder coordination and partnership development; She has extensive knowledge of up to date international development agenda, regional and local development, economic, social, cultural, spatial issues of cities and particularly metropolitan areas and creative industries.
Burcu is a graduate of Mimar Sinan University, Department of City and Regional Planning. She received her three master's degrees in Urban Design from Mimar Sinan University; in International Relations and Politics at EU Institute of Marmara University; and in Social Policies and Research, Urban Studies at University of Kent. After her graduation, she worked at EC DG Regio as a trainee, then at different units and projects at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. She worked at Urban Renewal Unit, UNESCO Sites Management Unit and at Istanbul Historical Peninsula Urban Design Project as an urban planner and designer. Then she worked at Istanbul Development Agency as the Head of Planning Programming and Coordination Unit, where she coordinated the regional plans of Istanbul and designed programs to implement these plans. Since 2015, she has been working as a consultant at Ikiiki Design & Consultancy, working with municipalities, NGOs and universities. She is also a co-founder of an arts and education initiative, serving as a network for creative industries.
