Sabine Kunst in Nantes

05 February 2015Sabine Kunst, programme manager in Roc Mondriaan for ESL, was invited in Nantes by Maison de l’Europe and Centre culturel européen during a special fortnight about netherland. She took part to a conference about the dutch educational system and Early School Leaving.
Sabine Kunst has particularly explained five actions in education which were developed.
• Regional coach facility for potential drop-outs
Link between education and external organizations in youth care and career advise;
(Student, parents, school counselor and “Pluscoach” make a plan together)
• Flexservice in secondary vocational education
Flexible providing of internal and external experts e.g. career advisor, school attendance officer, nurse, probation officer, social workers, police
• Flexcollege for drop-outs in secondary education
Prevent them from sitting at home by developing customized approach by cooperating with parents, school, and other stakeholders;
• VMBO+ in pre-vocational education
How to use an extra year in secondary education for potential drop¬outs in vocational education by better preparation for futher education
• Prevent drop-out in Havo-4 (general secondary education)
Awareness of choice for general education or secondary vocational education
