The OECD’s programme for Local Economic and Employment Development – LEED – has confirmed it will be accompanying JobTown throughout the project’s activity period, in particular through contributing to each of the coming Transnational Workshops.

This collaboration began as a one off participation in the initial JobTown Transnational Workshop, held June 2013 in Avilés Spain, wherein the synergies between the programme and the URBACT network became obvious.

As Silvain Giguère, head of the LEED Division Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs and Local Development, put it “We believe there is great potential to strengthen our mutual expertise on youth employment”.

The opportunities for mutual exchange, learning and dissemination are indeed promising, and it is thus with great satisfaction that the JobTown coordination team announces this recent development.
