Nantes encourages co-education
Edited on
13 February 2015The city of Nantes wants to help the access to information to all parents in order to have the opportunity to be involved for their children’s well-being. The city also wishes to encourage all kinds of better ways of talking together between parents, teachers and students. Furthermore it is clearly necessary to facilitate mutual approaches and shared ideas between stakeholders on a territory.
That’s why some ideas, which are partly already implemented, have to be developed and adapted. This is especially true for Information Points for parents or special events organized in some districts. They sometimes only have to be more identified as living areas and be organized in a more coherence approach on a territory. But we also have to find modern ways of communicating and at the same time keep human and personalized ways using testimonies or intermediated approaches.
More generally the city of Nantes will include its “PREVENT attitude” in a global policy for educational attainment based on a Charter for educational success adopted the 28th of February 2014 and oriented to the achievement of Educational Plans for Territories with a method of co-construction.
We also have to keep in mind that indicators are not necessary only quantitative ones and that consequences don’t give immediate and direct connected results. Therefore a local policy concerning the issue of involving parents to prevent early school leaving is necessary a continuing process based on confidence where it is neither too early nor never too late to interfere.
