The resounding conclusion from the first URBACT Markets transnational meeting held in Dublin last July 8-9 was that all 9 partner cities have developed concrete plans either at city level or in terms of individual markets to help transform their cities by harnessing the power of markets to promote sustainable city development, create jobs and employment and also redevelop downtown districts.
The first transnational meeting set the groundwork for best practise benchmarking and the management of exchange visits and study visits between partners.
But this project aims to provide other cities outside the URBACT framework the chance to learn from the URBACT Market project. Partners agreed that the Thematic Guidelines highlighting the three key areas of the URBACT project (employment and wealth, sustainability, and urban development) would be published August 30 and the Strategic Analysis for each city with local SWOT and PESTEL analyses would be published at the end of September.
