URBACT Markets partner Wroclaw wants to recover commercial zeal and quality urban planning with a renewed interest in markets

The Nowy Targ Square, one of Wroclaw’s three Old Town market squares, along with the Main Square and the Solny Square, is to be revamped to bring new commercial life to what has become a rundown area. The project is being debated as part of the city's URBACT Markets local support group framework. Local authorities believe the project will reduce traffic in the area, especially with the incorporation of underground parking, and importantly on the north and south sides of the new square they will introduce market stalls designed to bring commerce back to what used to be a vibrant market square.
