On the 14th of May, the city of A Coruña (Spain) will host "From Farm to City", an on-site international URBACT event where the future of sustainable urban food will be discussed. The event will be attended by representatives of both national and international institutions and cities, that are examples of good practices in promoting sustainable food policies; with a special focus on URBACT networks and cities linked to food policies.

“From Farm to City” is an international conference on food policies for a Sustainable Urban Development, also linked to the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact and the Glasgow Food and Climate Declaration.

It will take place in the Spanish city of A Coruña on the 14th of May, 2021.

This URBACT event is framed within URBACT’S Time To Share! initiative, which focuses on the dissemination and capitalisation of the results obtained by the URBACT Transfer Networks. Moreover, the learnings obtained from the different networks and cities linked to sustainable urban food policies will be presented. Such as: RU:RBAN, Agri-Urban, Diet For a Green Planet and Sustainable Food in Urban Communities and Food Corridors.

Specifically, representatives of Spanish and European cities participating in the URBACT Food Policies programme networks, such as Rome, Coimbra, Mollet del Vallès, Ourense or A Coruña itself, will be in attendance.

All these learnings and results are compiled in the URBACT Knowledge HUB on sustainable urban food policies, Food For Thought (https://urbact.eu/food), that will also be presented in the conference.

The event will also include a broader focus on other international institutions and initiatives such as the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact, the Glasgow Food and Climate Declaration, World Sustainable Urban Food Centre of València (CEMAS) and Barcelona, as the World Sustainable Food Capital 2021.

The event will take place at PALEXCO Congress Centre in A Coruña, and will be held in-person, guaranteeing all the necessary safety measures to safeguard the health of the people attending, and in accordance with the Congress Hall´s COVID-19 safety protocols. Consequently, there will be limited capacity.

The event will be live streamed and talks and discussions will be delivered in either Spanish or English. Simultaneous translations will be provided in both cases.

Registrations are free of charge and can be done through the following link: https://forms.gle/WnhyZmzsAZk5Evf97
