AGRI-URBAN wants to rethink the role of agri-food production in small and medium European cities, as well as its potential as an engine of job creation. Organic production is proving to be a cornerstone of a strategy of specialization in agricultural cities.
Baena is a milestone in this light, for hosting one of the pioneering initiatives of organic production of olive oil in the Mediterranean. A productive trend that has more recently begun to spread to other areas of the social economy.
Thus it is laying the first stone of the structure that will build the Local Action Plans of the members of the AGRI-URBAN network.
