Local authorities usually do not engage in areas or issues which are not in their direct ownership.
When it comes to housing, many ‘average’ areas of the city can go under the radar of public authorities and serious dysfunctions in the housing market can remain unaddressed in areas where local authorities do not have ownership of the stock. The session with the participation of ALT/BAU partner Torino Urban Lab will highlight the benefits of public interventions in areas that seem ‘invisible’ or ‘uninteresting’ from the usual local government point of view.
