First transnational workshop and SGM for ARRIVAL CITIES network

On the 21-23 of September  the Arrival Cities Network members and ULG representatives meet in Dresden to discuss about how to build “Community Cohesion”.  During the workshop the Univerity of Dreden, the Cities of Oldenburg, Riga, Vantaa, Patras and Val de Marne presented six case studies to show their strategies and experience on how they managed to foster community cohesion.

In the three days’ workshop it also took place the 1st project SGM, during which the communication plan and project brochure have been presented and a table on next steps has been agreed among partners.  Besides the regular project activities we had the pleasure to meet three young migrants hosted in one of the Young Migrant Centre in Dresden and the chance to listen to their stories. Thanks to the staff of the University of Dresden, who organized the study tour, we could also visit an Islamic Cultural Centre that besides its cultural and religious activities offers a voluntary service to the new comers in order to help them integrating in the administrative and social system.
