Edited on
07 December 2021We are looking for the more circular, more ecological and more healthy salty dish!
The Europe Direct Coimbra and Leiria Region, in partnership with Coimbra Region: European Region of Gastronomy 2021/2022, launched on November 29th, 2021, the gastronomic competition "The most saltainable dish in Europe", which aims to promote creativity and innovation through more sustainable and circular cooking practices, together with the promotion of the use of autochthonous and seasonal products, providing a space for cultural sharing between regions and participants.
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 who comes from one of the regions that make up the Network of European Gastronomy Regions of the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT).
Proposals can be submitted until January 31st of 2022, and must be done by filling out an online registration form - on the Europe Direct website or this link https://bit.ly/3rr8STE -, accompanied by a completed technical sheet in Portuguese or English, as well as two photographs: 1) of the ingredients used; and 2) of the preparation of the dish.
The savory dish that best meets the above criteria will be considered the winner and will be awarded a food gift from the Coimbra Region. Remember that the Coimbra Region is the European Region of Gastronomy 2021-2022 and, in one of the several actions it has already held, it hosted the European final of the "European Food Gifts", a contest with edible and non-edible products, which obeys a series of criteria such as authenticity and deep connection to the territory, handmade, sustainability, portability, among others, which will be evaluated by a jury of regional and international experts.
All recipes submitted to the contest will be part of a digital publication, in Portuguese and English, explaining the European Ecological Pact. The rules for participation in this contest can be found on the website of Europe Direct Coimbra and Leiria Region, and their respective social networks.
