Seven partners from Prevent project (upon 9 which was a very good proportion) were present to share their learning with other cities at the URBACT Riga Festival, about 3 main ideas: to build cultural bridges, to facilitate Democracy, to develop the outreach approach.

• To build cultural bridges:
  > Usti with romas parents
  > Stockholm with Somalien refugiees
• To facilitate Democracy:
   >The Hague about how to make parents more confident
   > Tallinn which communicates directly with parents with the help of new technologies
• To develop the outreach approach:
   > Nantes about the Information points for parents
   > Sofia and Gijon have presented their videos about how their LSG worked concretely.

Dr  Paul Downes, Thematic Expert, gave the main outputs of his research produced in our Policy Recommendation Report based these 3 main pillars and the “Preventers” did illustrate each of it.
The participation of a class of young pupils from Riga learning French with their parents was greatly motivating and participants were extremely excited to find some key words for democracy at school in the very particular atmosphere of the 2 old classrooms situated in the school museum which takes place inside the Riga Pupils Palace. Our “guide” ( a French comedian) showed the way according to the “spirit of nature” which gave refreshing air to all participants as parents need sometimes to be comfortable with school.
The main key words were about of course confidence but also listening to each other, respect, tolerance , freedom to speak and think, self-esteem, taking care  and all of that more and more with the help of internet and social networks.
