Educational Background in urban sociology (M.A.) and environmental governance (M.Sc.). Since 2011 leader of the Fraunhofer Innovation Network “Morgenstadt: City Insights”. Project leader and lead coordinator of extensive research (involving > 50 researchers from 12 Fraunhofer institutes) in leading cities world-wide:  Best Practice Screening for the eight urban sectors: mobility, energy, governance, ict, security, buildings, governance, production & logistics.  In depth analysis of 100 best practices for sustainable urban development in Copenhagen, New York City, Freiburg, Berlin, Singapore and Tokyo. This analysis was done on-site and included >400 interviews with local experts and stakeholders.  Based on this research: development of an integrated and systemic framework for the analysis of the sustainability performance of cities, involving >100 indicators, 85 action fields and a systems based assessment methodology. (The development and application of this framework for an integrated and sustainable development of cities is the content of my PhD thesis, which is to be submitted in fall 2015.  This framework is currently being applied in 5 Morgenstadt City Labs: Prague - Chemnitz - Lisbon - Berlin – Tbilisi.  For Prague I am leading the city team and coordinating the assessment and the development of an integrated roadmap for smart and sustainable development. For Chemnitz, Lisbon, Berlin and Tbilisi I am initiator and lead coordinator of the city team leader.

Through the innovation network Morgenstadt: activation of exchange and learning processes with 10 cities, 20 companies and 12 research institutes. Through the EU project Triangulum, development of a smart city replication framework that builds upon exchange and learning processes between Lighthouse cities Manchester, Eindhoven and Stavanger and follower cities Prague, Leipzig and Sabadell.
