A visit to the Dogpatch!
Edited on
02 October 2018The SmartImpact partners visited one of Dublin’s best-known co-working spaces, Dogpatch Labs located in the heart of the Dublin Docklands.
Home to Dogpatch is the historic CHQ Building (Custom House Quay) built in 1820 as part of the warehouse system, the listed structure was restored by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority in 2006 for €45M million. Originally was launched as 10,219sq m retail space but, it failed to attract retailers. In early 2013, about 80 per cent of CHQ’s overall space was vacant. Enter Dogpatch a co-working space for tech start-ups. He kicked off in September 2011 and 5 years later expanded in to vault area, originally used to store wine shipped from across the world to Dublin’s docks.
An excellent example of a city developing its innovation ecosystem, Dogpatch Labs is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship with a business model that supplies office space to scaling tech start-ups on affordable and flexible terms.
