26 November 2021The Budafok Wine Cellar Tour celebrated its 5th birthday this year. On this occasion, we wanted to present the Katona Wine House this time, the winery that has been with us since the beginning.
The COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected all the events, including the Wine Cellar tour in Budafok. In order to protect our health and comply with the restrictions, we held the first three Cellar tours of 2021 online via the Wine District Facebook page.
We have also moved one of the most popular programs of the Cellar Tour, the quiz night, to the virtual space as well. Players virtually measured their knowledge on 7 different unique issues.
In addition, we invited the participants of the Cellar Tour to a virtual walk. Those interested could discover the hidden treasures of the special street of our district, Péter-Pál street.
The Budafok Wine Cellar Tour celebrated its 5th birthday this year. On this occasion, we wanted to present the Katona Wine House this time, the winery that has been with us since the beginning. We organized an online wine and gastronomy show for the occasion. We celebrated the anniversary with a wine biscuit and a selection of wines from the Katona Wine House. And those who not only want to see and listen to the tasting but also to taste it can order drinks from the Katona Wine House webshop.
In April, due to epidemiological restrictions, we waited for the audience with the announcement of the results of an online music talent show and a wine tasting. The bands took part in the competition with the video they submitted, and a professional jury selected the winner of this year with the involvement of the audience.
In addition, we organized a virtual local history walk, where we could learn about the history of the cellars of Borkő and Zilahi streets. Sommelier Gergely Bitai presented the Budafok Wine List of 2021 online, and we held an online quiz night with the wines of Vimavin Winery.
In addition to the online programs, the terraces could open during the Cellar Tour in May, so we were present at the online platforms and the venues with the garden at the same time.
The Budafok Wine Cellar Tour’s YouTube channel has been enriched with new local history short films, and we’ve also been featured on our Facebook page and Instagram with constantly updated, and spectacular branding elements and content.
