João Medina is an experienced consultant, having developed numerous projects for public sector, private sector and international institutions around the world.
Working in SPI since 2000, Mr. Medina manages the Urban and Territorial Development team of the company.
Mr. Medina coordinates projects covering a wide range of areas including: regional development, regional innovation, smart specialization, urban renewal, urban development, land planning, climate change adaptation, tourism, territorial marketing, climate change, social inclusion, housing, cluster development, entrepreneurial ecosystems, business incubation, amongst others.
By having been based in Angola during 2009, in China in 2007, in the USA in 2000, and by having developed several consultancy projects in countries such as Brazil or Mozambique, Mr. Medina acquired an extensive international experience and proved ability to adapt to multicultural environments.
Mr. Medina received his major in Industrial Management and Engineering (five-year diploma) from the University of Porto, Portugal in 2000. In 2007 received his MSc in Urban and Environmental Planning, having developed his thesis on The impacts of Regional Innovation Strategies on Competitiveness in Portugal.
