URBACT takes part at the 8th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns - from 27 to 29 April 2016

The 8th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns, the flagship conference on local sustainable development in Europe, is taking place from 27-29 April 2016 in Bilbao, Basque Country.

Organised by ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, the Basque Government, Bizkaia County Council and Bilbao City Council, with the involvement of Udalsarea 21 - Basque Network of Municipalities for Sustainability, this year’s edition will bring together local and regional government representatives, European and international institutions, multilateral organisations, members of the research community, business leaders, and civil society.

"Transformative Action: the potential for Europe", 8th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns

The conference will demonstrate the urgent need for actions by local governments in shaping Europe’s future and will allow participants to capitalise on the positive momentum for transforming cities into truly sustainable areas. The Sustainable Development Goals and the results of COP 21 in Paris (France) will be reflected in the discussions, as well as the emerging Urban Agenda for Europe and the upcoming UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development HABITAT III.

URBACT will host a round table dialogue during the Innovation Market !
"URBACT on-going Call for Implementation Networks" taking place from 11:30-12:30 on 28 April 2016.

The Innovation Market will be an interactive space of networking and exchange, where stakeholders will present their initiatives, policy processes and research projects in line with the theme of the conference. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from the initiatives. During this exchange, you will be given an in-depth presentation of this new URBACT call for Implementation networks and will be able to ask all the questions you have about.
