Save the date! OnStage: Cities foster performing arts as tools for social change
Online Zoom - May 25&26, 2021
The URBACT OnStage's Grand Finale will take participants on stage through different artistic performances to share and exchange the manifold ways that the Good Practice of EMMCA of L’Hospitalet has been understood, adapted and reused in 6 other cities in France, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Czechia and Portugal. It is a choral effort that starts with a keynote speech by Anne Bamford, author of the seminal book “The Wow factor: global research compendium on the impact of the arts in education”. In four sessions we’ll exchange practice, discuss about the different levels at play when cities foster policies on performing arts for social change. We’ll talk about the complex interconnection between decisive urban policy commitment, ways to give structure to public services for performing arts open, inclusive and accessible to all, and finally the vital horizontal and vertical collaboration with local stakeholders such as schools, NGOs and other movers and shakers in the community.
