URBACT III celebrated its official launch in Brussels on the 16th of March 2015. Participants learned about URBACT’s work so far and about the features of the new programme.

URBACT 3 Launch

We were delighted that Corina Creţu, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, and Raphaël Le Méhauté, Director for Cities and Urban Cohesion, CGET, Managing Authority of URBACT joined us for the event. The launch was an opportunity for the Commissioner and Mr. Le Méhauté to share their thoughts on the importance of the programme and its role in supporting cities to achieve Europe’s shared goals.

Cities are the lifeblood of URBACT so, naturally, the event included a number of urban practitioners, sharing their experience in URBACT and explaining the benefits of the programme for their cities.

This event was a chance to:
Learn more about URBACT’s work
Get to know current and past projects and interact with the project leaders
Meet and interact with other urban development practitioners
Network in finding your next partner!

Who took part?
More than 200 practitioners and policy-makers involved in urban development at local, regional, national and EU level, coming from all over Europe joined us for this event. URBACT network partners and experts, other cities, national authorities, EU institutions, research institutions and managing authorities of operational programmes were also present.
