URBACT at The European Employment Forum

The European Employment Forum is taking place in Brussels on 12 and 13 November 2013.  This annual networking forum is dedicated to everyone involved in employment and enterprise within the EU and beyond.  URBACT is participating to the event and is holding a stand. Come and visit us !

The international conference deals with the major social and economic issues surrounding employment and features a broad international panel of speakers presenting current thinking and policy, with the European Commission Directorate Generals well represented. In addition, the event attracts a wide range of individuals, businesses, social partners and government policy makers from across the EU and beyond.

The theme of this year's Forum highlights the need for the European Union to introduce and drive change in order to achieve sustained growth.
In 3 key sessions, the 2-day conference will be devoted to 3 issues that are high on the agenda in every EU country:

  • Youth employment
  • Social inclusion
  • Enterprise

URBACT in the workshop"Cities of tomorrow and their increasing significance for the employment agenda"
URBACT will be in the heart of the workshop "Cities of tomorrow and their increasing significance for the employment agenda"  taking place on Tuesday 12 November  4.15 - 5pm.

With 50% of the world’s population living in cities, their place in the employment sphere is increasingly important. A new report is about to be published highlighting the capitalisation results on the work undertaken by DG Regio to encourage jobs in our cities. Looking at community-led and regional-led development, this strategic framework offers some new ideas on job creation.
