URBACT City Festival 2022 will take place in Pantin / Greater Paris (France) on 14, 15 and 16 June 2022, under the French presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Registrations are now open until 11 April at 12:00 CET, you can apply here.
This year’s City Fesitval is particularly special, not only because it is an opportunity for the URBACT Action Planning Networks and the whole URBACT community to reunite in person and celebrate European cities’ achievements, but also because we have taken on the challenge to make it the first carbon-neutral URBACT programme-level event!
European cities will get the chance to exchange ideas, network, Show and Tell the results of their work and get inspired for the implementation of their Integrated Action Plans. 450 European city representatives will hear from top-level practitioners on bottom-up initiatives on climate, inclusion and urban innovation.
The main venue will be La Cité Fertile, one of the largest eco-responsible 'tiers-lieux' in Paris area. Located on former railway land, La Cité Fertile aims to bring people together and build an ecosystem dedicated to ecological transition.
The spirit of the place is essential to achieve the carbon neutrality challenge of this edition of the Festival. We will do it by using an eco-oriented venue powered by renewable energy, with local, seasonal and plant-based food, waste collection and composting, and carbon offsetting to compensate for participants’ travels and the remaining carbon footprint.
The Festival will also lead us to URBACT IV and offer a unique sneak peek into the new edition of our programme, as well as the space to meet new project partners. This next programming period will be full of new opportunities and calls for cities!
