University Of The Aegean

The University of the Aegean is one of the most newly-founded Universities in Greece. Nowadays, after almost two decades of its foundation, with 16 Departments and 26 Post-Graduate Studies Programmes, it is ranked as one of the greatest universities in the country. The University of the Aegean has a complex structure because of its dispersion onto five Aegean islands (Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Rhodes Syros and Lemnos).  The research at the University of the Aegean has significantly contributed to resolving problems at local level, in connection with the local societies of the islands that host its Departments. Currently, there are 90 laboratories with intensive research activities operating at the University of the Aegean, into the following research areas: Information and Communication  Technologies; Agriculture, Nutrition; Energy; Transport , Shipping; Sustainable Development and Environment; Tourism, Culture; Education; Health; Financial; Economic and Social Sciences.
