Edited on
09 October 2017Take part in URBACT's RE-Block Network Final Conference and discover experiences of cities in regeneration of housing estates. Join Re-Block in Iasi, Romania on 26-27 February 2015!
The Re-Block network’s main goal is to find good practices in fostering efficient regeneration of high rise housing estates, in order to make them more attractive places to live. The project is lead by the Local Government of the 18th District of Budapest and includes the partner cities of Rome (IT), Salford (UK), Södertalje (SE), Magdeburg (DE), Vilnius (LT), Komotini (GR), Iasi (RO), Gelsenkirchen (DE), Malaga (SP).
The Final Conference is prepared with the intention to present the participants—policy and decision makers, officials, politicians, practitioners and academics—the results of the project and to share with them the lessons partners learnt in the course of the project.
The participants will have a variety of activities to attend such as an exhibit of Re-Block’s journey; a session on Re-Block’s vision for the 10 participating cities; EU level policy discussions; along with cities sharing their good practices and interactive discussions. The Final event will also give the opportunity to exchange experiences with the guest city of Leipzig which has outstanding results in the regeneration of housing estates as part of its integrated urban strategy, applying the recommendation of the Leipzig Charter.
