Summary of Learning - Alytus

The main project partner, the Municipality of Barnsley, has a lot of experience in promoting city's economy by offering business-friendly services, working actively with business and academia in the digital economy sphere. In this way, the city develops and attracts young talent, reduces the emigration of young people to larger cities or foreign countries, and creates attractive conditions for science, business and life. The city of Alytus, like other project partners, plans to adopt the good practices of Barnsley Municipality in the field of promoting the city's economy by using the knowledge of their experts.

 Alytus City Municipality gathered representatives of local and regional government, business and science into the project local working group
(ULG), to which representatives of Barnsley Municipality presented their work directions with business and experience  and did not spare advices on how Alytus City Municipality could provide coordinated business support and necessary services by setting up a one-stop shop for business.

In order to gain not only theoretical but also practical experience in providing sercvises to business, representatives of Alytus City Municipality participated in practical study visits in Barnsley (UK) and Novska (Croatia) municipalities. A DMC center was visited in Barnsley, where municipality concentrates its services for business and which acts as a one-stop shop for business. The municipality of Novska presented its game industry incubator and the peculiarities of its work with the business.

The total budget of the Techrevolution 2.0 project is 543,819.40 Euro, the part flowing to Alytus City Municipality is 82,166 Eu.
