The radio station's Story Café is open from 2nd of May to the 16th of May 2021.

The city of Pori and the artist collective T.E.H.D.A.S. ry will jointly open a Story Café for two weeks at the Väinölä shortwave station in Itä-Pori on Sunday2.5.2021. The event is part of the Come In! Talking Houses/Shared Stories project done in collaboration with EU's Urbact network and the city of Pori. The two-week event will open to the public previously closed spaces on the first floor of the building, which will be developed for community and cultural use.

Spread inside and outside the station, the Story Café is an open space and meeting place where you can share stories about East-Pori and learn about the radio station facilities and history with a free coffee or tea and a snack. In addition, people can see T.E.H.D.A.S. Ry's three “Fast Show” art exhibitions and the results of community art projects implemented in the surrounding area. The background music in the space is a soundtrack inspired by East-Pori and composed by local musician PasiSalmi, especially for the Story Cafe.

The Corona-safe Story Café offers a chance to maintain a safe social distance and is able to host small-scale events such as concerts, art workshops and film screenings. By its nature, it is a gallery-like space where you can come to experience art and learn about history in a museum-like setting, or if you wish, just stay for a cup of coffee inside or on the open-air terrace.
