Take part in Sustainable Food in Urban Communities Network Final Conference in Bristol, UK on 16-17 March 2015 and discover the cities experiences!

Sustainable food in urban communities focuses on developing low-carbon and resource-efficient urban food systems, by focusing on three areas: growing, delivering and enjoying food. Lead by the Brussels Capital Region (BE) and including partner cities of Amersfoort (NL), Athens (GR), Bristol (UK), Gothenburg (SE), Lyon (FR), Messina (IT), Oslo (NO), Ourense (ES), and Vaslui (RO), the project brings together the knowledge of all these cities in finding solutions for sustainable urban food systems.

The international conference “Sharing city journeys towards a good food future: Sustainable food conference for European Cities” is a great opportunity for those interested in urban food issues to come and explore the lessons and experiences of these cities. The conference will have a focus for city representatives and interested parties engaging in strategies for low-carbon and resource-efficient urban food systems to share and learn on how cities are putting food on their policy agendas, addressing issues relating to “growing” (production), “delivering” (supply) and “enjoying” (demand).

The conference will be joint reflection on how cities take an active role in food and develop strategies that create synergies, increase resilience and generate a vision of a coherent local food system. Hosted by Bristol, the European Green Capital in 2015, the event will share the outcomes of three years of rich exchanges of the Sustainable Food in Urban Communities Network.
