This year the Municipal Public Library in Katowice joined the European URBACT III project which is focused around games and dedicated to the transformation of cities through gamification.
One of our Library's idea to take part in the project is to arrange an exchange of games events titled “Pass your board game on!”. Our main concept is to give partakers opportunity to find a new home for their old, unwanted, too-well-known or disliked game items. Within a few hours of one day participants can swap their board games, card games, puzzle sets and RPG’s manuals among one another. Only undamaged and complete items can be exchanged and, of course, no cash payments are allowed!
Each participant should be able to tell something about games they want to pass on and know its rules to explain it to a potential new owner. Although it is not necessary condition but it helps in the efficient exchange of games.
“Pass your board game on!” events takes place three times a year - in June, September and December. Participation in the exchange is free of charge.
