B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:

As the member of the managing team of EU initiative Mayors Adapt (http://mayors-adapt.eu/ Currently merged with Covenant of Mayors and renamed Integrated Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy) I am deeply engaged with sustainable urban development issues, especially as regards resilience and adaptation to climate change. My main tasks within the initiative are knowledge and know-how support to cities/municipalities on their way to developing adaptation or resilience strategies. I am also the editor for 'urban' sector issues for the EU's Climate-ADAPT adaptation knowledge portal (http://climate-adapt.eea.europa.eu/cities) as well as support the European Environment Agency in such tasks as the development of the European urban adaptation report (http://www.eea.europa.eu/publications/urban-adaptation-to-climate-change , organisation of the Open European Day event at Resilient Cities conference (http://resilientcities2016.iclei.org/open-european-day/), development of other material related to urban resilience. Furthermore, I act as an evaluator of LIFE fund projects for the Climate Change Adaptation theme, many of which concern sustainable urban development.

In my role as an expert speaker and facilitator for workshop series on adaptation within the Environment and Climate Regional Accession Network ( ECRAN) I am well versed in the knowledge exchange and training specifics on a transnational level ( http://www.ecranetwork.org/Climate/Adaptation). ECRAN network beneficiaries are EU candidate countries and potential candidates.

English is my main working language since 7 years including both oral and written presentations, publications, reports and everyday communication. My higher education degree studies have also been conducted in English.
