Expertise support to local authorities and other stakeholders in designing & delivering integrated and participatory policies

E.1. Knowledge on participatory methods and tools for co-production and implementation of local polices :
In HousingLab I conducted a series of focus groups with the municipality of Milan and local stakeholders to create a network of exchange on housing policies. The meeting was structure in a way to answer specific questions and generate others. The results from the focus groups were first shared between participants, then in a local event and then were put in a wider project to develop specific policies. (final report: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2pM9Q04cOvkUlI0WlVBamdiRlU) During BoostINNO, meetings, focus groups, brainstorming sessions and events were organised and I offered specific tools for participation that allowed the municipality to involve expert stakeholders and the larger public. During focus groups, I used SWOT analysis and scenario building to enhance conversation. (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ka84j3yT6Vbr5efucUXyx0oEhD3XofKn)
E.2. Knowledge on integrated approach for the design, delivering, monitoring and evaluation of urban strategies/policies:
Integrated approach is the main challenge to my opinion in the context of public administration in Italy, In the housing field, around the idea of housing as welfare I have been working with welfare office, housing and urbanism. This was difficult, but creating a common interest between the offices and working on the specific aims helped. I would like to work more in an integrated approach because I believe it is the only way towards innovative policies.
E.3. Awareness of the main policy and funding schemes for sustainable urban development at EU and national level:
With HousingLab, and as a consultant I constantly monitor local, regional and EU funding opportunities. I know well the URBACT scheme thanks to BoostINNO and Innovato-R. I am very much familiar with CREATIVE EUROPE PROGRAMME thanks to HUMAN CITIES as well as Europe for Citizens thanks to Experimentcity Europe. I consult to the municipality of Milan, Innovation office on funding opportunities. I keep track through newsletters websites.
E.4. Ability to understand specific local situations and adapt tools and content to different local realities:
During Experimencity EU, Human cities II and BoostINNO, the aim was to share best practices and exchange towards different outputs. In Experiment days EU, all local examples of housing were very different concerning a very local and specific context, but we managed to create a word cloud and then a list of guideline that were shared between the participants and then in the local context. for many of the participants this was a first step towards implementing policies. Also, Human Cities II ended with the creation of TOOLKIT helpful to take from local experience and offer enabling opportunities for everyone.
