02 October 2018Registrations are now open for the 2018 European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC), taking place in Brussels 8-11 October under the headline of ‘For a strong EU Cohesion Policy beyond 2020'.
You can register directly for the sessions that you are interested in, including a session run by URBACT on overcoming implementation challenges to sustainable urban development solutions (more info below). URBACT is also contributing to a joint session of the European Territorial Programmes on building a user-centric digital public sector (also below).
This year’s EWRC is slightly different in that the main venue for over 170 working sessions, official receptions, networking and exhibition opportunities will be the Square Conference Centre in downtown Brussels. The Week also promises more interactive and lively working sessions through formats such as world cafés and EURegions talks.
Visit the EWRC website and watch the online trailer for more information. We also encourage you to join the #EURegionsWeek online community before, during and after the Week itself.

This session is moderated by URBACT expert Ian Graham and draws on the lessons and experiences from cities in the URBACT Implementation Networks, including Ghent and Lyon. Join city practitioners and changemakers in exchanging your thoughts and ideas on the implementation challenges faced every day in cities and how to overcome them!
Towards building a user-centric digital public sector, Wednesday 10 October, 14:30-16:00 at the SQUARE - Brussels Convention Centre, Room 311
This session will explore issues of digital governance with key insights from the Urban Agenda Partnership on Digital Transition and the four European Territorial Programmes: Interreg Europe; Interact; ESPON and URBACT. Come and see how some national, regional and local authorities have moved towards a user-centric digital government!
You will also be able to find URBACT at the joint ‘Urban Corner’ in the Exhibition space of the Square Conference Centre. Look out for future information on small URBACT sessions run in this space shared by multiple urban-related European programmes and initiatives.
