Edited on
13 February 2015In the framework of the RE-Block project one of the extra meetings was organised in Rome 11-12 September 2014.
Partners agreed at the Mid-term Event in March 2014, Gelsenkirchen that an extra workshop on common issues of the first draft Local Action Plan would help them in further knowledge exchange and the finalisation of the Local Action Plans. All partners were drawing up the first draft LAPs before the summer holiday and sent them to one of the Knowledge Ambassadors who had participated in Peer Review Sessions organised earlier in the city and the Lead Expert. Based on the comments made on the LAPs common issues were identified for discussion. During the workshop the World Café method was used (as RE-Block LAP Café) allowing partners to freely exchange ideas, methods and experiences.
The six topics discussed in 4 + 2 groups were:
- Why the definition of an agreed long term vision for the target area is important in the LAP?
- How is it ensured in the LAP that the local politicians get committed to the development of the target area?
- What makes an ULSG work? How to maintain it after the closure of the project?
- How to present a multi-level governance structure in the LAP?
- How to motivate special stakeholder groups such as young people, representatives of minorities, private owners to get and stay involved in regeneration processes?
- Which are those activities that contribute to the improvement of image high rise housing estates and do not need substantial investments?
The first draft of project level outputs, such as the EU level policy recommendations and Smart Governance Guidelines were also presented and discussed. The Thematic Pole Manager, Iván Tosics in his presentation talked about “The Integrated Approach to Sustainable Urban Development in 2014-2020: Implementing Article 7”.
