Prato
Prato, with more than 190,000 inhabitants, is the third largest city in Central Italy. Its textile district is famous worldwide, representing around 3% of European textile production. For decades, textile industries in Prato have been relying on the circular economy, reusing second-hand clothing from all over the world. Nowadays, Prato applies a circular approach also to the waste produced from the construction and demolition of buildings (“Rethinking the City”).
