B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:
My career deals with different experiences; having obtained the professional license as Civil Engineer and designer in Italy, I attended a Master in Energy Resources Management: EU cohesion policies, urban sustainability, renewable energies were the most important subjects. Soon after I joined an Engineering Society where I got the opportunity to make remarkable experiences in the field of building maintenance and management, but also in the field of heating & cooling and renewable plants and of thermal analysis. In addition I was given urban development feasibility plans and accountancy studies among my assignments. After that I took the chance to participate in the European Programme Leonardo focused on Energy Efficiency. It resulted in a four-month lasting internship in the Lyon Local Agency of Energy as EE consultant. My contribution involved the creation of a database containing the energy features of Grand Lyon buildings; moreover I took part to an urban planning study concerning the sustainability of different Lyon areas. All of this was discussed during a public speaking I was invited to organize , with the support of data and statistics slides. Back to Italy, I I have been involved in Interreg MED and Urbact III projects, which are strongly related to cohesion policies, EE, RES. Nowadays I keep operating in the field of Urban Dev as an external consultant; my expertise is mainly focused on off-the-shelf financial instruments aimed at urban renovation.
B.2. Understanding of exchange and learning processes at transnational level:
I have been familiar with exchange and learning at transnational levels since my University years thanks to participating in international design workshops or Engineering Fairs across Europe. During my experience at the Lyon Local Agency of Energy, since I was taking part to a programme related to energy efficiency among European countries, I was presented with interviews, meetings/workshops with delegations of professionals, civil servants executives, top architects and planners of design companies and city managers. All of this has so far helped my current activity especially addressing technical workshops in a wide range of fields. Getting involved in strategic planning and in policy dev. processes at city level has empowered my understanding of integrated urban development which I was able to transfer at transnational levels.
B.3. Proficiency in English:
I started studying English at the age of 10, attending extra school-time lessons at the British Council in Rome. In 2007 I got the FCE Cambridge certificate and recently I have obtained the CAE Cambridge Certificate with the label of C1 Level – Advanced. In order to carry out my University thesis work, concerning differences between European and American technical standards, I have managed to master and re-arrange English documents referred to complex topics; moreover, I performed my results speech both in Italian and in English. Nowadays, thanks to Eures Programmes, I have been presented with several Engineering workshops and WebInar events where I have taken the chance to communicate in English , improving my skills, with presentations, conference papers, working documents as well as on line chatting . What is more, I have been involved in the Urbact III Project, which has been a real gold mine for my English proficiency, through dozens of preparatory drafts, schemes, researches on professional sites and oral & written communication during partner search. Whatever is the target and the scenario, when it comes to English communication skills, my main purpose is explaining even complex topics through an efficient use of few but ad-hoc words, as well as making my vocabulary be extremely versatile.

Sustainable Housing
Summary Thematic expertise:
My expertise in sustainable housing, in particular referred to the sub-theme of energy efficiency, relies on five years of professional experiences, working and increasing my knowledge of every aspect of this topic. First, thanks to the Master in Energy Resources Management in 2011, I was able to learn European energy policies, regulatory frameworks and economic strategies by attending several meetings and workshops. After that I started an intense professional activity which involved designing renewable plants for buildings as well as energy saving retrofit, green architecture and sustainable refurbishment & renovation; all of this was scaled from private houses to terraced houses and public buildings. As regards thematic inputs for learning process, I can mention a couple of reports I was asked to produce during my internship in Lyon; they were about exchange learning among young European workers and the main purpose was to make Leonardo Project participants share their know - how for future Programmes. Working for Urbact III proposal, among preparatory drafts and schemes I have managed to prepare a couple of resumes concerning policy and good practices, with instructions and suggestions for local stakeholders and urban policy-makers. I gave my contribution to the overall analysis of project results , in particular new innovative schemes for future implementation of EU Energy policies and of new financial PPP schemes mobilizing privates investments in EE renovation.
