B.1. Understanding of integrated and sustainable urban development:
I am an urban planner, graduated in 2007 at the Milan Polytechnic. I decided to continue with a specialization Master of the University of Rome La Sapienza on the theme of small villages and sustainable landscape. Since 2007 I started my activity as a "local developer": I collaborated for 5 years at the Milan Metropoli Development Agency, where I learn the “European language” as an assistant for different European projects (Urban, Interreg, Life+) and support Milan metropolitan area as a territorial fundraiser. Since 2012 I’m a freelancer and I have helped groups of farmers to set up rural districts, municipalities on projects financed by ERDF and I collaborate with Navigli Lombardi, the company that manages the canal system, also in view of the Universal Exhibition of 2015. Then I collaborate with the regional company Eupolis as a researcher on the themes of mountain governance and metropolitan development. Since 2017 I concentrated my effort on the Urban Innovative Actions OpenAgri project as an officer of the Municipality of Milan with the intent to develop new development paradigms for peri-urban agriculture. In parallel, I supported Lombardy Region developing the action plan of the Interreg Europe RUMORE focusing on urban-rural synergies. From 2020 I further supported Milan on the Horizon Europe Reflow project: the Milan pilot in Milan intends to make urban food flows more circular with attention to the covered municipal markets and the wholesale market of the city.
B.2. Understanding of exchange and learning processes at transnational level:
I participated as a consultant to partner in European projects where my role was often to identify local stakeholders and best practices to bring them to the attention of foreign partners. Interreg Central Europe ClusterCoord and InoPlace projects: exchanges between European clusters in the field of tourism, technological innovation, and business support. In other projects, the exchange was finalized to reports and deliverables engaging different partners. Interreg Europe RUMORE (Rural-Urban Partnerships Motivating Regional Economies): exchanges activities with cities/regions partners to identify inspiring rural-urban practices for Lombardy Action plan. Direct exchanges between Lombardy and Central Macedonia about a pilot project on a digital innovation hub in the agri-food sector. Horizon Europe REFLOW: exchanges with partner pilots to develop common output (e.g. Citizen engagement and capacity building report) and deliverables based on Milan pilot activities. UIA OpenAgri: exchange activities with UIA sister projects (MARES, MAC, …). Presentation of Milan practice and exchange on potential common points. Interreg Europe CityZen: participation as a selected external expert on business models for the urban farming business models workshop, transferring Eu good practices, and managing exchange discussion.
B.3. Proficiency in English:
Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). C1 Level. Listening: I can understand extended speech even when it is not clearly structured. Reading: I can understand long and complex factual and literary texts and understand specialized articles and longer technical instructions. Spoken interaction: I can express myself fluently and spontaneously so that I can formulate ideas and opinions with precision and use language flexibly and effectively for social and professional purposes. Spoken production: I can present clear, detailed descriptions of complex subjects, integrating themes, and developing particular points. Writing: I can express myself in clear, well-structured text, expressing points of view at some length. I can write about complex subjects in a letter, an essay, or a report, underlining what I consider to be the salient issues. My English knowledge permitted passing 8 university exams during the Erasmus period. Then, I actively participated in transnational projects listed in my cv and I supported the organization of international project events such as Promised Land – the future of urban consumption in the framework of UIA OpenAgri. I participated as a project referent to several exchange meetings among European projects and also as a speaker in some workshops/conferences/events. Here is an example of an impulse presentation for CityZen Interreg project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvppG5aMst0&ab_channel=CityZenInterreg

Theme / Policy:
Urban Strategic Planning
Summary Thematic expertise:
With an education background on urban planning specialized on territorial policies, I focused my experience in the last 10 years on rural-urban strategic planning, fundrasing for local authorities and consulting on resource programming. Based in Milan, I had several experiences of international exchange activities in the framework of European projects (Interreg Central Europe, Life+, UIA, Interreg Europe, Horizon Europe). I coordinated and developed different action plans and studies for local project pilots (RUMORE, REFLOW) after sharing knowledge with other EU territories. I supported the regional authority on recommendations for ROP ERDF to enhance new projects on agri-food local chains (RUMORE), and I designed new processes of project proposal definition between creative experts and farmers, rethinking the role of the agricultural entrepreneur. In terms of communication, I coordinate the content production and the diffusion of the results of OpenAgri Talks: video interviews to project partners and stakeholders with the intent to transfer the complex knowledge raised from OpenAgri.
