Main policy issue to be addressed in relation to the selected topics
The main challenge concerns implementing and promoting circular economy approaches in the fields of municipal waste. Project would handle specific area of improvement that each City encounters in the organization of municipal waste system, focusing on separate collection, waste prevention, food waste, deposit return schemes etc. Number one priority is waste prevention, then reusing and recycling. Warsaw aims to improve collection rates by promoting collection rules among their residents, all entities that produces municipal waste (non-residential buildings) . The network will refer to Warsaw’s 2030 Development Strategy that defined circular economy as one of the strategy objectives of municipal waste management system. Within the network Warsaw plans to animate actions informing and educating about biowaste collection, promoting composting, organizing pilot solutions to encourage waste segregation etc.

Warsaw, Poland's capital, has around 1.7 million inhabitants registered, the municipal waste management system covers the area of 517,24 sq. km. There are 2 Civic Amenity Sites and a network of Mobile Civic Amenity Sites. Warsaw takes part in various European projects. The undertaken actions will address all possible stakeholders: inhabitants, NGOs, entrepreneurs, local authorities etc.
We search for partners with similar challenges and goals, willing to share good practices and implement new solutions with their inhabitants.
