A working group to facilitate the implementation of integrated sustainable urban and socio-economic development according to the "Common Declaration of Principles and Commitments for Sharing Cities" (http://www.share.barcelona/declaration/) . A network dealing with Sharing / Platform Economy and City sovereignty: Platform models differentiation, negotiation with platforms, citizen's data rights, labour, promotion of sharing economy platforms with positive impact. The third edition of the Sharing Cities Summit took place in Barcelona 12-15 of November 2018 gathering Mayors and Deputy Mayors from 50 cities from around the world and actors of the sharing ecosystem, to discuss how the continuous growth of sharing economies impacts the life and economic development of the cities. This year’s Summit focused on defining a “Declaration of Principles and Commitments of the Sharing Cities”, and stimulated concrete collaboration between cities. This URBACT network aims at becoming a task force structure to support the development of concrete actions of collaboration between cities to support the Declaration, to share common information and strategies, to develop a negotiation framework as well as to promote the development of local collaborative economic ecosystems based on positive impact in cities.

Have you already been involved in an URBACT network?

As a Lead Partner

Useful Information

Barcelona City council has been part of different URBACT Networks like "Boostino: Boosting Social Innovation". It also has been Lead Partner of URB-Inclusion.

We are looking for a partner from a "less developed region" to close the final partnership. Nevertheless, if you are interested on what is being developed, events like Sharing Cities Stand Lab at Smart City Expo World Congress (quadruple helix approach), materials like the book "Sharing Cities: A worldwide cities overview on platform economy policies", don't hesitate to contact us.

We invite you to write an email to us: nvaleroes@uoc.edu, proldan@bcn.cat or info@share.barcelona.

Looking forward to hearing from you
