Wise metropolitan practitioners as brokers of their own competences become mentors for others cross-fertilising between institutions, themes and needs

As part of the Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) Strategy and Strategy 2030 implementation, the needs of experience exchange, knowledge and good practices sharing, problem solving and addressing challenges from the level of partnership management and individual stages of the ITI Strategy implementation have been identified within the Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area. We cooperate with people highly specialized in particular topics who often do not have the possibility to share their experience/knowledge with others, as they are in different departments or even institutions. In order to strengthen the metropolitan area management we want to create ways of sharing these resources, especially with those who are not afraid of competition, deal well with the common good, when confronted with project type thinking, dealing with rules and regulations in such a way as to get the maximum added value out of all resources. They must become metropolitan mentors, helping others in difficult management situations, at the same time being enabled to do so by the metropolitan authorities themselves. Aims: • build and strengthen spirit of solidarity and self-help between European Metropolises in solving management-related and strategy implementation issues • create a pool of experts/practitioners at the same time and help them find their European counterparts and use their competencies • to support the mentors in their self-development capacity by trainings, study tours etc.
