Promoting climate change adaptation, risk prevention & management (TO5)
Diffusion of green structures in urban areas and sharing best practices

Topics

  1. urban environment and resilience
  2. Urban regeneration
  3. Energy efficiency

Main policy issue to be addressed in relation to the selected topics

By a double-step approach, the project idea is based on dissemination and sharing of experiences and good practices between European cities for the development of a cluster of actions for the diffusion of adaptation plans/strategies and green roofs and walls for energy efficiency by working on the redevelopment of existing spaces inside the cities, implementing their resilience and transforming them as a model for other parts of the cities or replicable for other countries.

Have you already been involved in an URBACT network?

No

Useful Information

By the Italian Legislative Decree no.115 of 30th May 2008, ENEA has the function of Italian National Agency for Energy Efficiency. In this project ENEA is involved as DUEE (Technical Unit for Energy Efficiency).
All research activities of the team partecipating at this call are based in Roma (Italy) using some experimental facilities available at the Casaccia ENEA Centre. The project team is working on developing experiments and demonstration activities to define materials,
energetic parameters, plant species, technological options, and existing scientific information on building energy efficiency. In particular, the URBACT proposal is part of a deeper research activity in progress in ENEA to explore the potential of green roofs and walls and systems as sustainable and innovative tools for “green insulation” of buildings, and their contribute to aesthetic and eco-urban life in the cities.
