Topics

  1. Scientific Culture

Main policy issue to be addressed in relation to the selected topics

=> Creating a local network with the main local players related to scientific, industrial and technical culture. Museum will be the leader and the exchange platform. - Identified local players are start-up incubator, university , research centers, NGO's, high-schools, enterprises... - Public targets are all kind of populations with technological and scientific illiteracy. For instance : population for whom scientific culture is not the first priority (young parents, youth, etc.), technological isolated population (retired people, low wages young workers, unemployed people, etc.), => Enhancing scientific and technological culture of high-school students through scientific leisure activities and developing entrepreneurship spirit through creation of junior start-up with high focus on environmental and science activities => Creating and improving IT tools (with local start-ups) and developing third places (media libraries, school libraries, scientific mediation) devoted to science dissemination and debates => Developing scientific, technological and industrial tourism (including local population) through partnership with research organisms and local industries

The city is located nearby a very important agricultural area, in the center of a very large forest area, and along the Loire Valley (Natura 2000 area). Orleans has 8 European twin cities and 4 extra-European twin cities.
