With the rise of available data streams the focus in the last years was mainly on (real-time) IoT data, and the technical ramifications to make these data usable in the operational processes. With this project we aim to exchange knowledge on how to use these data amongst other data sources such as statistical, policy-related and operational, in a comprehensive framework to make the data useful in the different aspect of local government's decision-making, in management, policy and participation settings.
The main questions we want to answer:
How to support strategic decision with measurable indicators?
How can policies be monitored on their impact?
How can plausible correlations be drawn between the administration's decisions and the desired outcome?
How do you present data to your stakeholders and citizens to enable dialogue?
How do you ensure they understand the data you present and engage in enriching them?
How to collect data and which data is relevant to collect?

The City of Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is the administrative, financial, business, education and research centre in Slovakia. The city administration is currently preparing a strategic metropolitan plan with a great focus on translating the strategic vision, goals into indicators and measurable goals. The breadth of various data sources, their diverse quality make it harder to evaluate and monitor impact of management and policy decisions. As part of this project we would like to design a comprehensive framework aiding public servants to navigate the data management and evaluation.
