29 November 2018From the 3rd to the 7th of September 2017 City Centre Doctor’s partners are going to meet in Czech Republic and Poland for the 7th International Meeting, the last before the final event in San Donà di Piave. Goal: to finalize the structure of the Integrated Action Plans.
Everything is ready. Doctors are coming. They will land in Valašské Meziříčí (Valmez, Czech Republic) the 3rd of September, to move then in Radlin (Poland) the 6th of September. In both cities, they are going to meet local “doctors” in order to make a “complete urban check-up”, by evaluating problems, opportunities, gaps and talents of the city centers through study visits and the application of the “| Start | Stop | Continue | Improve | methodology”. Moreover, they are going to sit down and find out a therapy for all the City Centre Doctor’s cities, by drafting Integrated Action Plans, with the help of URBACT Lead Experts and professionals.
Almost 2 years of cooperation produced a huge amount of knowledge and information. The skills of urban managers of the involved cities had been improved and their perspective towards the city center’s development and revitalization had been widely enriched. Through a constant exchange of ideas, best practices, solutions, visions and tools, each city may count now on a huge heritage: it’s time now to translate it into concrete plans, able to take into consideration the highest number of factors as possible. Urban development cannot forget social issues, citizen’s wellbeing and demographic challenges, as well as new economic and commercial trends.
This is the ultimate goal of the upcoming event in Valašské Meziříčí & Radlin. The quality of the seeding will be evaluated in San Donà di Piave, in May 2018, when the Integrated Action Plans will be presented and discussed with experts and with the community.
