The OECD LEED Forum on partnership and local development 13th annual meeting takes place on 10-11 April in Prague, and URBACT is set to appear in a number of sessions.

Some 250 representatives of local partnerships, youth organisations, businesses, academics employment services and other public bodies will meet in Prague to focus on “Increasing productivity, job creation and inclusion from the bottom up”.

URBACT, which fosters sustainable, integrated urban development in cities across Europe, will feature in two workshops as well as a speed-networking event for local development practitioners.

Our speakers are looking forward to meeting participants throughout the two days. In particular:

  • Marino Cavallo, Metropolitan City of Bologna, involved in the URBACT Procure network, will show how Bologna includes social clauses in public procurement and encourages the development of social enterprises. (Monday 10 April, workshop on “Social enterprises: how can they help to enhance productivity, create jobs and increase social inclusion?”)

  • Willem van Winden, expert for the URBACT EUniverCities and InFocus networks, will share examples and findings of EU cities working with universities and businesses to tap into local economic assets and retain talents. (Tuesday 11 April, workshop on "Business start-up support in Higher Education Institutions”)

  • In addition, participants willing to know more about the URBACT programme, and its networks of cites, are invited to join the speed networking session taking place on Monday 10 April, from 13h30 to 14h30.

Eliska Pilna, National URBACT Point for Czech Republic, and the URBACT speakers will be there to welcome you!
