Morne-à-l’Eau

Morne-a-l’Eau is a city located in the overseas departments of France, at Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.

Morne-a-l’Eau is the access gate to the Nord Grande Terre urban community (see map below). Its main roads are facing 30.000 vehicles each day, approximately split up to 50 % each between the two highways passing through the city. Morne-à-l'Eau is a town or city crossing crossroads between North of Grande Terre (National Road 6) and the East (Le Moule via National Route 5) to join the economic and administrative lung of Guadeloupe representing 60 % of jobs in all of Guadeloupe (this area is covered by the Agglomeration Community Cap Excellence).

Due to its location as access point to the majority of jobs in the Cap Excellence urban community at the centre of Guadeloupe, the Morne-a-lEau is facing congestions on its main roads, but exact numbers on commuters are not available. Time loss from congestion is the same for cars and public transport as provided nevertheless.
